This year, Dale and I traveled to Edmonton, Alberta for Easter. We got up extra early on Friday morning and headed out on our trip.
| We saw these clouds on our way there. They reminded me of a never ending row of hot-dog buns. |
We loved having time to spend with our niece and nephews! It had been a while since we have seen them. We got to build towers, watch shows, play Willy Wonka & Labyrinth and spend time with our gorgeous niece,
And we got to kiss, hug, cuddle, and chase around our very handsome nephew.
On Saturday, Dale had a birthday that you can read about here. Dad Thomson, Daniel, Dale and I got to go the the West Edmonton Mall!
| This roller-coaster looked a little too scary for my liking |
Then on Easter Sunday we got to be at church for our newest nephew, Oliver's baby blessing! Dale was asked to be in the circle and it was such a wonderful experience to be a part of. He is such a cute little boy and is the greatest to be around.
After church on Sunday and after some family photos, we headed out for our journey home so that Dale could be at school on Monday. Well, things were going great for about an hour or so. Then, out of the blue, POP! And that's when the car started to shake. Dale stepped out of the car to see the damage and saw the tire as flat as could be. And of course, no spare tire for our car. So, Dad Thomson and brother Daniel came to rescue us. We took off the tire, took our valuables out of the car, locked it up, and went to fix the tire. We did have to take a little stop in this place.
So, instead of driving home at late hours of the evening on Easter Sunday, we got to be in Edmonton eating a super yummy Ham and cheesy potatoes! We also got to spend a little bit more time with this wonderful babe.
Monday lead to many things. Dale was up earlier than I was so he went with Dad Thomson to Canadian Tire to get our tire fixed. After lunch, (because our tire was still not fixed) we got to help our niece with an Egg hunt! That Easter bunny sure did spoil her! There were eggs and candies all over the park! Too many to count, and definitely too many for her to eat on her own, so we helped her out a little bit.
Then, we said our good-byes, picked up the fixed tire, and headed out to our car. After getting it back on, we were on our way home. We didn't end up leaving for home until about 4 p.m. so we were driving well into the night. Well, Dale was driving.. Although I did manage to stay awake late enough to hear this song on the radio, and I was tired enough to find it super hilarious!
All in all, we enjoyed our Easter weekend.
