Almost There!

My little child is 30 weeks old! That means that I can count on my hands how long it will be until this little bundle arrives!!

I think it really just hit me. 10 more weeks and this being that I love so much will be in my arms. 10. Like, 5 plus 5 equals 10. Wowzers!

As for my preparedness, ha! There are so many things that I keep telling myself I need to do, and haven't. Although the more I think about doing them, the more I question if it's really important or not. I think Dale and I have decided to hold off on setting up a nursery. We're feeling really good about Dale's dental school situation, so if a move is happening, no use setting the room up to take it down right? Right.

The things that are currently taking up most of the space in my mind are:

- Having a baby shower before baby gets here. (I'm just waiting for my parents to get home so I can plan it all out with my Ma, otherwise it'd all be done by now. Haha)

- Installing the baby's car seat. I think I'm going to try and hold off until May to do this. I tend to get very excited about things very far ahead. Plus, we won't need it till then anyways.

- Packing my hospital bag and the baby's bag. I think I've held off doing this because mainly, I just don't know what to pack! Sure, I've read lots of posts about what others have packed, but I just don't know!

- Making freezer meals. This is a must-do for me. I've found lots of lists of what other moms had prepped and I know for a fact that if there is a way that I won't have to do the cooking, I'll use it! I don't think I can mentally rest on the fact that maybe some people will bring us food once baby comes, I need to be prepared.

So far these are the things that I can remember. Haha that's something that has really taken it's toll on me. Memory loss. Haha Sometimes Dale thinks I'm just pulling his leg when I have to ask him over and over the same question about the simplest things. I blame it all on baby. :)

Also, I have been doing lots and lots of reading up about labour, birth, and tips. I'm starting to really get into a book that my SIL Jenn lent me about hypnobirthing/breathing. This book came with a cd in it with nature sounds and relaxing words that tell you about breathing and relaxing your body so it can do what it's naturally meant to do. At first I read this book through and listened to the cd and laughed and put it all away. But now, I think it's sinking in more because of how serious I'm getting about my labour and delivery. I'll admit, I was terrified about this part of the pregnancy. I really needed the articles, websites, cd's, etc. to give me the strength and confidence that I need to know that my body and I will do the absolute best that we can and that's all that I can ask.

I want to be in control of what happens and so I've realized that I can't be in control unless I know my stuff. Hence, all my reading. :)  Haha just in case you were wondering..

Now, what's up with Dale?

Well, He's just finishing up his semester right now and getting ready for all his finals and exams and what not. Those are never fun (for him or for me).

In the midst of all his studying for finals, he'll be trying to prepare for his Dental Interview which is on April 6th in Saskatoon. He was lucky to get a copy of last year's interview questions from one of his professors so that's really all the studying that he can do for that. It's sort of sad that it has to be on THAT day. Not only is it General Conference weekend, but it's also the day before his birthday! I feel sorry for my poor husband. I won't have the time to bake him a cake, or wrap his present, or really celebrate like he deserves. But luckily, we're going to be staying with my Aunt and Uncle who are just outside Saskatoon and my Aunt and I have planned out a big party for him while we're there! I don't know if I'll bring his gift or not.

Yes, his birthday was the next thing I was about to mention. He's turning the big 24! (I don't know if 24 is a big one or not, it just sounded good.) Dale is just like a little kid when it comes to gifts. He's been asking me for months and months what I got him as a gift, whether it's hidden in the house, if he can know what it is, He also told me he's searched for it once or twice!

Well I guess I will take a break from my novel for now. Hope you've enjoyed my update, I should really make them shorter and more often.
