The Final Countdown

Well folks, I like to think that I'm in my final countdown!

Here I am at 36 weeks! Although, I'm much more closer to 37 now. I haven't posted a picture in a while though so this is the one you get. Haha.

Sadly, hardly anything I own fits me anymore. I had to go to a cheap clothing store the other day and buy 4 t-shirts that fit me because the only shirts I have left that fit me are long sleeved, and we are not having very much long sleeved weather (thankfully!)

So, what have I been doing in my final stretch (haha literally)?

 - I've sorted through all of my little baby items from my baby shower and I've got them all washed and just have to organize them in the closet. I was so in awe of how little these clothes are, I'm finding it hard to believe that my baby will actually fit into them!

- On Mother's Day I had Dale and my Dad install the car seat in the back seat of our car. Now THAT is an unreal feeling. Seeing it in there when I go to get into the car just gets me so excited!

 - I'm getting closer to packing my hospital bag. Haha I know I should just do it, I just find other things to do instead. I'm starting to make a little mental list of things to put in. Shampoo, conditioner, clothes, all that sort of stuff. I should really do that.

 - I've been trying to improve my walk waddle. Seriously, it's getting bad. I'm pretty sure that is what people look at while I go down the aisles in the grocery store. I just tell myself that they think my belly is cute...

 - I think my baby is trying to communicate with me. You see, the baby would get so active sometimes, I would put on Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting and have fun just watching and feeling all it's little ninja moves! But the other day, Dale and I were driving in the car two different times and Wanted Dead or Alive came on the radio and when the song talks about being a cowboy, baby just had such a hay day and had such an intense dance party. If these songs are any indication of how my little babe will grow up, I've definitely got my hands full!

 - We just finished up our pre-natal classes and I'm feeling ready (mentally) to have this baby! We'll see if that mental confidence will stick around when labour presents itself.

 - I can't get out of this baking phase! I just want to make everything! I buy lots of extra bananas so that I can turn them into yummy bread and muffins, I buy sour cream so that when there is about a cup left I can make these delicious blueberry muffins, and I want to chow down on cookies galore!

 - My OB says that baby is doing great! Last ultrasound measured baby already over 5 pounds! She said that baby is on the lower percentile and that he/she will be a small little babe (which is totally ok with me!). Gosh, I can not WAIT any longer to meet baby!!

 - Dale has started working at the Refinery again for the summer. He's already just sore from not using his muscles physically over the school period. But he loves not having to use his mental muscles for a while. Since daddy is now working 12 hours days for 3 days out of the week, we've put together our little labour plan! As in, if I go into labour, I call the special phone number for his work and tell them to send him home immediately as I'm in labour. Hopefully I'll be able to time it just right so that he gets home before it's too late! Haha. If that is the case though, I'll just get a hold of someone I know who can get to me quicker than he. Having this plan in place is also making things super exciting!

 - As for how I'm feeling, I get a lot of nausea in the evenings and even some pretty bad Braxton Hicks contractions but nothing I can't handle. Basically, I'm just exhausted.

Here is a little picture that Dale had the idea for when we were about 33 weeks. Dale thinks baby is a boy, hence the picture. We don't actually know the gender.
