It's almost saddening to see how fast he is changing..
Tommy is really starting to actually pay attention to things. When he sees the shadow of someone standing beside him he instantly turns his head and tries to see who it is. He's also starting to pay attention to the toys we're showing him, the sounds and faces we're making, the finger nail polish I put on.. He's a very alert little boy!
The first words out of my mouth to Thomas when he wakes up are "Good Morning, Tommy!" and he just smiles! He knows his name and he loves hearing it. When Dale gets home from work at the end of the day, he'll call out Thomas' name from the front door and Tommy will just freeze and try to figure out who said it, and where it came from.
This little boy of ours is definitely not starving. He must be going through a growth spurt right now (ahem, always) because he's waking up every 2 hours at night to eat and he'll eat every hour to hour and a half during the day! It's no wonder that he's already hit 11 pounds!
Well, today we mustered up our courage and took Thomas to get his first set of vaccinations. It really was harder on me than it was on him, although, it wasn't a walk in the park for him either. He's a screamer when it comes to needles apparently (which didn't help my case) and when he was calming down he was doing the gasping for air whimper, which was so heartbreaking. But, after a little bit of nursing he was calm enough to get in his car seat and drive the 5 minutes back home and then fall asleep in his mommy's care.
Not only is he growing in weight but also length! I'm proud to announce that all his newborn clothes are getting packed up and that he's already gone from his Newborn size diapers to size 1! Sniff, sniff, it's going too fast!
News on the Mommy front:
I hadn't had a hair cut in quite a long time and as Dale kept pointing out: "You just wear it in a pony tail or a bun anyways." So I put on my big girl pants and went from this:
To this:
Not going to lie, I was so nervous about how this style would look on me. But, Dale was right, it was time for a change. I also had a bit of inspiration from Lauren, who has a similar cut. What can I say Lauren, I want to be just like you! He he. I have to say that I am glad I did it. I'm liking it more and more each time I see it in the mirror and each day that passes.
News on the Daddy front:
Dale has his last day of work on the 30th of August and then he's back at school for another year! I don't want to brag or anything but he already has 2 scholarships for this semester! I'm so glad that my husband is smart, it's sure saving us a lot when it comes to his tuition! He had applied to get in to Dental school in Saskatoon this year but we got word that he hasn't been accepted this year, so we'll be trying again next year.
So, there's a little update on all of us!

Cute baby boy and cute mommy! The new hairdo looks great on you - very sophisticated. And next year Dale needs to apply to Winnipeg, too. So many babysitters here and so willing.....
