Day Five!

Day five was our trip to Aquatiqa! (The water park part of Sea World) Boy was having a day for a water park a great idea! I think this might have been one of my favourite days just because I didn't have to walk for hours in blistering sun, I got to soak in the water and splash around!

Dale and I don't really have a whole bunch of pictures from this day, mainly because of the whole water aspect and our camera isn't water proof. But there are plenty of stories! I think my favourite "rides" was where you could take a tube and float from the current all around the ride. There was another one where the current was a lot more rough than the tube one, but you could just wade into the current and then get tossed through the course that was set up.

Dale and I went on a ride where you could take a double tube on the slide so two can go together. So, Dale and I stood in line and waited our turn. We got on our tube and at first, the ride was completely enclosed and made you twist and turn in the dark. Then it opened into this huge bowl that you spun around until you got to the bottom and dropped into this hole that took you down into the end pool. Dale kept calling it the toilet bowl, which was pretty accurate.

Then we went on another ride that you could take a tube on again. This one had the same beginning of being in a enclosed dark tube, twisting and turning, but instead of opening out on to a big bowl, it opened onto a huge slide! For those of you who have been to Ipsco park, you know the kind of slide that I'm talking about. The one you slide down on a potato sack. Well, this was a huge slide like that, only dripping with water, and   you're on a tube, not a sack. So, we get to that part and Dale, being the heavier one, had to sit at the back. So we go down the first bump in the slide and we caught all the speed and completely skipped over the second bump, with so much speed that the third bump completely threw us into the ending pool. Needless to say, I only went on that ride once with Dale. Haha.

Dale went on a ride that was basically a tube the whole ride that went through the pool where the dolphins were swimming around so he got the feeling of 'swimming with the dolphins'. There was also another part in the park where you could sit in a pool and watch the people sliding through the tube in the dolphin pool. It was really cool!

The pictures that Dale and I did get from Aquatica were of the dolphins! The staff were doing some training right as we were planning on leaving, so we stayed and got some pictures. They aren't the greatest, but their good for memories!

As we were walking around the park there was this corner dedicated to this tree of parrots. One of the parrots had gotten out of the tree somehow and was giving a show to all the people walking past. When we walked past there were people who were hold the parrot on their hands. But of course, right as I was about to get the bird on my hand for a picture or two, the park lady came up and told everyone to back off because the bird was violent and would hurt us. Pffth.

The bird was doing a pretty funny dance where he'd sway back and forth then spin his head around in a big circle. It was pretty funny. Dale tried so many times to get a picture of it but, it didn't really work.

After our great water day at the park, we decided to bust out our coupon book and head over for mini golf! This was the Pirate's Cove adventure golf place. We took the tougher course and played all 18 holes.

Dale was the only one who got a whole in one that day. But I still beat him.

They really got creative on some of their holes. This hole was through a cave that had "people" hidden in places, and motion detectors that would make this parrot sing a really spooky song.

Over all it was a awesome day! After golfing we were super hungry so we walked across the street to another little buffet place. This one was called CiCi's Pizza. Yup, rows and rows of different types of pizzas. If you didn't see your favourite kind of pizza, they would make it for you. Not only did they have dinner pizza's, they had dessert pizzas, yummy cinnamon buns, soups, salads, and more! The best part was that we had a coupon that was buy one get one free, so we only had to pay for one of us!

Having this water park day was so relaxing. We didn't have to worry about walking super fast to make sure we saw everything in time. We got to take our time and enjoy everything. We figured that we would do something a little different after we got to our room, so we rented a dvd from the lobby and watched the Quantum of Solace movie and ate some snacks. It was a great ending to a great day!

Day Six is up next!

  2. Cassie, DId you know Dale loved loved loved mini golf as a little boy. I remember he took it so seriously and tried really hard to get the ball in the right direction. We have some cute videos of him playing golf at a little mini golf course at Niagra Falls.
