When we did get out of bed, we prepared ourselves for a day trip to Cocoa Beach with Aunty Lisa! We got on our suits, packed our towels, grabbed our sunglasses and went out to wait for our ride!
Once we were all together, we made our way to Cocoa Beach!
You'd be surprised at all the things we saw on our way. Mainly normal things for Florida, you know, like dead armadillos, vultures, huge dead black wild hogs... Okay, so maybe not all that normal. We wanted a picture of the dead hog, but on our way back we passed a car right as we approached it. Sad.
We stopped for some lunch at Subway and then went right to the beach! Whoopie!
This picture ^ is proof that sunscreen WAS, in fact, put on.
This was my first time ever being in the ocean! So cool!
Can you see Dale's foot? ^
| Dale's arms formed a heart, just for this picture. |
All of these sweet pictures of Dale and I are courtesy of Aunty Lisa!
What's a day at the beach without a picture of some pretty feet! They are pretty, Aunty!
After our "swimming in the ocean" experience had passed, we all got pretty hungry. So we made our way around town to find some where to eat. We discovered this cool little pier with shops, snacks, and cool surf boards you can pose with!
This bird was not afraid of people, at all. Although most birds that we saw on our trip were very used to humans, probably because of how many people will throw food for them.
Throwing our cares aside, we all posed for a picture or four with this ridiculously cheesy surf scene.
Once we had eaten and seen all the cool things there was to see on this pier, we headed back to Orlando. Our resort didn't have any food on site so on our way back we thought it wise to stop for some groceries. It was about that time that we noticed how poorly the sunscreen worked on us. We were all starting to turn red from the sun.
We found out at the beach that sunscreen comes in these little things that look identical to glue sticks that kids bring to school. So, at the beach I borrowed this from aunty Lisa and rubbed it on Dale's forehead so his face wouldn't burn. Well apparently this type of sunscreen does not rub in very well because as soon as Dale started showing his burn, there was a crazy white pattern on his forehead from where the sunscreen hit.
And yes, we were sun burn on the second day of our trip. It made the rest of the days a little painful. Smart thinking on our parts! (Don't worry, we've healed)
With our load full of groceries, we drove to the resort. We said our goodbyes and headed upstairs to smother ourselves in Aloe Vera and "Ultra Healing" lotion. Those are the smells that we fell asleep to that night.
Stick around, we'll be right back with Day Three!
