5 Months young!

This is what I get to spend every minute of every day with. The happiest baby ever. I am such a lucky momma to have such a wonderful first baby! As you can tell he's wearing his new addition, his amber necklace. His Nana bought it for him. I can't really say if it's made a difference with his teething yet because it's only been a few days that he's been wearing it. But man, was he sure teething hard before it came. He would bite down on your finger like he was trying to bite through a piece of wood! Aka, hard!

This face is also the face that he gives to daddy whenever he sees him. I should admit that it makes me a little envious. We only captured this photo because Dale was the one taking the picture, so naturally Tommy was all smiles. 

We celebrated my birthday this month and this picture only partially captures Tommy's curious side. He never reached out to touch the candles but he sure kept an eye on them! He loves to be involved with everything we're doing. He yells and shouts at dinner time because his bouncy chair sits lower than the table and he can't see and grab at the things we're eating. 

So, we've started giving him cereal. He absolutely adores his cereal! He gets so excited when he sees us holding the bowl. He reaches out to try and take it from us to do it himself. I also can't believe how quickly he devours it! I'm starting to think that maybe I really was starving him without knowing it! Poor man! I can hardly bring the spoon to the bowl after giving him a bite without him shouting "Ahhhhhh" for more! We got a rice cereal sample and he ate that up but I've decided that I'm going to start him on Oat cereal instead and he doesn't seem to mind one bit!

His personality is totally showing and growing everyday! He loves to just be silly now. He'll look you in the eye and just start blowing spit at you, or he'll just yell to get your attention and once he has it, he'll get into a laughing fit. I can really start to see the little boy in him break free.

He's also starting to discover different body parts! For instance, his tongue, which he uses to pretend he's a trumpet player all day long. He is a huge fan of his toes! He grabs them with both hands, pulls them up super close to his face, and just looks at them. Sometimes he sticks a toe in his mouth but I don't think he knows that he can control his toes, so when they start wiggling around in his mouth, he gets kind of upset. He knows that he has ears on the side of his head! Although he only seems to grab them when he's frustrated so he has some scratches on them. His favourite thing on other people is their noses. It's the first thing he reaches for when you bring your face near.

Bath time is a favourite around here. First of all, he loves being naked, in case you noticed in earlier photos, and he's starting to love the water too. We have a little spot in the bathroom in front of the mirror by the shower (we don't have a tub) that is his favourite place to bathe. He likes being able to see himself splash around.

Basically, we're so in love with our growing bundle of joy!
